Greetings Students and Parents!

Thanks for coming to my web page.  I hope that it is helpful for everyone.  I wanted to put up this section to tell you a little about me.

about 2000I moved to Sonoma County in 1987 after graduating from high school.  I attended SRJC and took lots of art classes: drawing, painting, photography, graphic design.  I moved on to SSU where I got my BA in Liberal Studies and a pair of minors: Physical Science and Studio Art.  I earned my credentials at Chapman University.

I was a substitute teacher in Sonoma County for five years before joining PJHS in the 2000-2001 school year.  Before that I worked at Cinnabar School as a volunteer and in the school's day care.

Blue ThunderAs many kids already know, I am also an artist, and love to draw!  For years I have been a comic book collector, and have many drawings of comic book characters, including several of my own creation: Archon & Blue Thunder.  The large oil painting in my room is a "Lang original" of Blue Thunder (seen at right).  At one time I bought many comics every month, but for quite a while now I have only read several titles.  "Iron Man" has been my favorite for many years, along with "Captain America" and the "Avengers."  I have a huge Iron Man collection, part of Iron Man 2 -2010!which is on display in my room, my Iron Man Shrine!

I started taking guitar classes several years ago through Guitars in the Classroom, a nonprofit group that teaches guitar to teachers. I play acoustic as well as a Fender electric guitar.

Years ago I practiced martial arts in Santa Rosa with Sensi Callahan of A.S.K Shotokan Karate. Injuries, and life, got me out of martial arts, but now, 15 years later I started again. This time with my younger son. We both go practice Taikwondo at Lansing's Martial Arts in Windsor.

Self Portrait- KlingonAs one may guess I am a science fiction fan.  I am a Trekker (Star Trek Fan) and a fan of Star Wars.  I love ST:TNG and DS9. I watched all the new "Enterprise" series faithfully!   I love the Klingon culture, language, and martial art.  I have an extensive sci-fi library.  The picture at the right I have been working on for many years and just recently completed it.  It is pencil and crayon on paper.  I started it in January '95.  I had time to work on it when I taught one section of drawing.

I put myself through college by working at Sizzler in Petaluma, "Would you like that with baked potato, french fries, seasoned rice or mixed Italian vegetables?" which is now closed and was located where the Baskin Robins/Togos/Old Chicago's/Starbucks is now. I also worked at the Cinnabar School Day Care.  I still have kids and parents look at me and wonder where it is that they have seen me before!  Before I was hired at PJHS I spent some time working at Home Depot in Rohnert Park as a cashier.

I have been married for 15 years and have 2 sons.  My oldest is Aric @ swim meetAric , who is 12 and is in middle school in Rohnert park. He is a Boy Scout and is on the Rohnert Park Piranhas Swim Team. His favorite events include the 400 IM and the mile. He also plays clarinet, flute and ukulele.

Brody- round kickMy youngest is Brody, who just turned 8 years old and is in 3rd grade. He is in taikwondo with me and is learning the guitar.

My sister in law has a 4 year old girl, Amber and she is with us 5 days a week, it is quite a handful!

Music? I was a metalhead in high school and college, atending every show I could afford to go to. Still have the ticket stubs too! Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Boston, Aerosmith, Crue, Malmsteen, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi, Stones, Who, and a host of lesser known 80's rock bands. Alas, the gods of rock, Led Zeppelin, had Lt. Cmmndr Lang, Astrocartography Dept, USS Newtonalready lost Bonham and I never got to see them all together, but I did see the Page/Plant reunion!

We have 2 birds, Ladybird and Stumpy, a pair of cockatiels. We adopted them from a bird rescue and have had them over a year.
